Charity Birds Hospital in Chandni Chowk, Delhi

This proved organization started approx 90 years ago, and is running on the principle of "live and let live" on which the jainism is based. Charity birds hospital was started according to the wishes of a great Jain Saint (Maharaj Ji) in 1929, in a single room at Kinari Bazar, in the residential house of late Sh. Lachomal Ji Jain, This hospital is unique in the world (unique because, it runs on donations only and more than. 95% donations come alone from Jains only). From Kinari Bazar, this hospital was shifted to pious premises of Shri Digmber Jain Red Temple (Commonly known as Lal Mandir) in front of Historical Red Forte (Lal Quila). Here the hospital is housed in a three storied building, the foundation stone of which was laid by on 18th April 1952 by First Chied Commissioner of India Mr. A.D. Pandit and inagurated on 24th of nov. 1957 by 1st Home Minister of India, honble Late Sh. Gobind Ballab Pant. The people of India espically Delhi and N.C.R. can never forget the valuable services rendered by Late Sh. Rattan Lal Ji Jain Bijliwale and Sh. Chakresh Ji Jain, the president and secretary of the management committee of the hospital, for their common valuable work of the birds hospital and without whose guidance and supervision, could never have acheived present grandeour. Presently the day affairs of the hospital are looked after by Mr. Sunil Jain (Honrary Manager) and is being assisted by Sh. Pramod Kumar Jian. athe generous donation from the people irrespective of caste creed and religion helped this hospital to grow into its present grand stature. The birds in the Hospital are being looked after by a team of qualified technical person. They all work tirelessly under the valuable visionary guidance of Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Singh Supervisor Mr. Khem Raj Kumar that is always been avilable when approached junior Doctor Mr. Rameshwar Kumar and senior compunder Mr. Kamal Kumar provide treatment to the birds. At presen approx 500 birds (different types) are present here in different stages of treatment and recovery. On an average 50-60 birds are admitted in the Hospital daily (Indoor Section) and almost equal no. of birds are treated in OPD section daily. Birds lovers of different States/Cities are being given guidance about treatment through NET, Mail & Phone which has been widely apprecicated by public and has shown good results. After the birds recover and becom fit to fly, they are being released into their natural home l.e. Sky.
